Billy Locket | Wasting Time

An artist well on his way to the peak of his power, Billy Locket has released his single 'Wasting Time', which marked the next chapter for the singer / songwriter as he found himself in a good place, on the other side of a struggle with addiction.

The bold and reflective single showcased his deeply candid approach to music making, as classical piano flourishes and lush string arrangements bolster the myriad of emotions which Billy has captured through his vocal performance.

Lyrically, the track explores those feelings and helpless moments just after a painful relationship split. Written and recorded straight after such an event, Billy captured that heart-wrenching feeling on tape, explaining:

"I wanna just say this is the sound I’ve been looking for my whole life. I wrote this new song fully from the heart when I was in a very bad place and it’s probably the most personal lyrics I’ve ever written. It’s also the first release I’ve ever fully produced myself."

The track followed his one-off album of modern classic piano compositions 'Together At Home' which reached No. 8 in the Official UK Digital Album charts this summer (no mean feat for a fully independent artist). In 2019 he performed live on James Corden's The Late Late Show and enjoyed a No.1 iTunes EP with 'Burn It Down EP'.

Known for his soulful vocal, timeless song writing and mastery of the piano, Billy has gained critical acclaim and fans all over the world, with support from BBC Radio 1 & 2, a tour with Lewis Capaldi, support slots with Birdy and Lana Del Ray and continuing to work with some of the biggest artists, writers and producers in the world.
