NEWS
After finding huge praise and acclaim for their previously unveiled singles, which have since been supported by the likes of BBC Introducing, BBC Sounds, and several Spotify Editorial placements and tastemaker support, Scottish singer-songwriter Blair Davie has now released their eagerly-awaited new EP ‘It’ll Be Lovely’, showcased by the collection’s closing track 'Edge Of A Feeling'.
Capturing more of that warm and effervescent alt-pop aesthetic they have been cultivating since they first emerged, ‘It’ll Be Lovely’ EP stands as a statement of self-discovery and realisation about who they truly are, and the emotional turmoil that can be unearthed as a result. Arriving with the new single ‘Edge Of A Feeling”, the final entry from the new collection, this new outing caps off this monumental moment in their career so far with one of their most triumphant offerings to date
Speaking about the new EP, Blair says,
'It'll Be Lovely' encapsulates everything I was going through last year. From stumbling into a beautiful yet gut-punching long distance relationship to coming out as a non binary person and figuring out how to deal with an anxiety that had a chokehold on me, writing these songs and sharing it with my community has been so wonderful. It's a collection of songs that helped me learn to love who I am and all the experiences that have shaped me. I hope people can find solace and comfort in the stories that I know are shared by so many. ’m so happy and excited to release my debut EP 'It’ll Be Lovely'. It captures a period of my life where everything was changing in the most magical ways, even at the hardest times. I’d found love and was truly discovering myself at the deepest levels and I’m so glad I have this EP to help me process it all. I can’t wait to see it connect with people!"
While adding about 'Edge Of A Feeling',
“Like so many people I know, I’ve struggled with anxiety for a long time. It constantly makes me live in fear of the worst-case scenario coming true and has stopped me from living freely. 'Edge Of A Feeling' is about trying to live through that anxiety and not letting it stop you being present and doing what you love. It’s diving head first into the things that scare you and coming out stronger for it.”
Having just wrapped up their support appearances for Sam Fisher on his recent UK and European tour and an appearance at Sziget Festival last month, Blair Davie has also been announced as the support for 86TVs’ September and Corook’s December tour.
'It'll Be Lovely' EP is out now.
