Scottish singer / songwriter Christy has revealed his stunning new single 'Forever', out via Made Records.
Opening and closing with the sound of a cassette player's play button being pushed, Christy's rustic and delicate vocals are at the forefront of the track, sang against a stunning acoustic guitar. Lyrically vulnerable and raw, 'Forever' is a song that wrestles with the passing of time and delivers one of his most accomplished and impressive songwriting arrangements to date.
He says on the track,
"Time is a strange concept. It passes us by in a flash. Looking into an ever changing face is an everyday reminder of how much of it has actually gone by. You can’t promise forever, because forever in a moment right now is different from forever in a moment tomorrow. Moments and people are constantly changing. I wrote this song in the middle of the night, around 3am maybe, after an intense chat with my friend about a relationship that recently ended. I didn’t want to wake anyone so when I sang it into my phone it sounded so soft and intimate, we put a lot of work in making the recording have the same feeling."
Christy’s debut EP ‘Homegrown’ achieved over a million streams in the course of just four months. Capturing listeners’ attention with his refreshingly honest lyrics and raw, heartfelt vocals. He has quickly propelled himself beyond his humble beginnings busking on the streets of Glasgow, and set himself apart from his other forays into the spotlight, including being part of a boyband, and starring in a Disney TV show.
'Forever' is out now.
