Class Jackson | Just A Friend

Re-inventing himself once again, Class Jackson continues his genre-fluid journey into the music industry mainstream whilst exploring complications of relationships in new single 'Just A Friend'.

With a solid opening which feels somewhat nostalgic, Class Jackson sets the pace for the swith an atmospheric pop melody, indie pop flavours and euphoric 80's synths with a unique vocal and thought-provoking lyricism. You can tell that the track is inspired by his love of the 1975 with tight production and infectious hooks - a binge worthy anthem that will make you want to listen over and over.

The artist, who's vocals have been compared to The Weeknd in the past, prides himself on his ability to write catchy, ear worm tracks whilst telling a meaningful and personal story, and 'Just A Friend' encapsulates exactly that.

“This song is super special to me because it represents a lot of hard work and growth over the last six years as a songwriter, musician, producer, singer, and an artist with a vision who isn't afraid of going after it and making it come to life. Lyrically it tells the story of two relationships that were really formative for me in my mid-20s. This song means so much to me in so many ways and I think is relatable for a lot of people and the situations you can find yourself in and the song after the lift in the second chorus doesn't get old and I've heard this song literally a million times."

Putting psychiatry residency on hold for three years to hone in on his craft, Class Jackson is as bold as his music. Influenced by an eclectic collection of musical styles including The 1975, John Mayer, Michael Jackson, Post Malone, and The Japanese House, Class Jackson's music is a canvas of the ups and downs of looking for love, self-esteem, and everything in between through a 2AM bedroom and neon light soundscape. It’s the perfect prescription for anyone who relates to the struggle of finding yourself, overanalyzing relationships, a broken heart, or just wants to dance.

A trilogy of EPs will set the stage for 'Coupe Cathedral', his debut album and the feature film of the story. With the first instalment, 'To Santa' and 'Little Brothers', already out, 'Before I Knew What Love Was' is coming soon as Class Jackson’s career and storytelling continue to unfold.
