Following the release of his pure pop stomper ‘Talk To Me’ last month, Efraim Leo returns with his summer-soaked new single ‘One Of Them Girls’. taken from his forthcoming EP 'Timing'.
Undeniably groovy, buoyant and in perfect time for summer, 'One Of Them Girls' is the opening chapter in the story of the EP.
Approached “like writing a movie script”, each song in the EP is set to focus on a different stage in the story of a relationship.
"‘One Of Them Girls’ is about a girl I see and instantly fall in love with. She’s one of them girls that everyone wants to be with. Ultimately, she will break my heart.”
Initially centered around a repeated and lusciously reverberated guitar hook, ‘One Of Them Girls’ quickly opens up into an all out 80s inspired, the weeknd and stranger things adjacent sounding chorus. With it’s instantly danceable groove with syncopated multi layered rhythms, underpinned by a relentlessly solid backbeat on the drums, the new single is one to get everyone moving.
The 22 year-old Stockholm native was born into a family of music-lovers. He started out on a heady diet of jazz and Bob Dylan. Efraim started to teach himself to play the guitar at the age of 13, before starting to write songs at 15.
In 2018 Efraim took his music where it mattered the most - on the road. An ‘unofficial’ busking tour was organised, following The Vamps around the UK. Arriving at the concert venues early in the day, Efraim set up outside and played for the quickly forming crowd of Vamps fans waiting to get inside.
The experience sparked a deep-rooted love of live performance, and last summer Efraim took to the stage again in Sweden, playing some huge shows including Lollapalooza, Stockholm Pride and Summerburst Festival.
“Playing live will always be what I’m all about; that’s what’s really important to me. I used to want to do acoustic sets - but as my music has evolved, so have my live performances and now I can’t wait to get out on tour again.”
Make sure to keep an eye out for Efraim's debut EP 'Timing' out soon.
