Eli Brown has invited rising act South London punks Talk Show for brooding punk inspired techno single 'Trouble'.
Relentless from the offset, 'Trouble' is a high octane cut of punk inspired techno complete
with propulsive synths, an unceasing percussive line and a deadpan vocal line courtesy of Talk Show vocalist Harrison Swann. Rather than leaning into each other’s stylistic traits, both acts ramp up the intensity; with Eli Brown injecting an acid-infused potency while Swann snarls vengeful declarations over the track’s foreboding atmospheres. Somehow both euphoric and pummeling, the track represents a perfect collision of cultures from an inherently uncompromising artist bringing one of the most impactful new acts in the UK into his world.
Matching each other’s sonic ferocity with unflinching power, ‘Trouble’ echoes the blueprint built by seminal Bristolian electronic and punk acts such as Massive Attack and IDLES, building on their hallowed formula with ease. An explosive example of bringing two unstoppable forces in their own worlds together, ‘Trouble’ is the result of fruitful experimentation of collaboration, one that will yield further offerings in the near future.
Bristol based producer Eli Brown is firmly placed on the global electronic music map, having gained a third Annie Mac's Hottest Record In The World with 'Killer', marking a new chapter in a a career lauded by the likes of Carl Cox, Green Velvet, Adam Beyer, Alan Fitzpatrick, The Blessed Madonna and more. Bringing dark, ethereal tones to the fore within his own work, Brown’s alternative approach to production draws Dance Music’s elite into his darkly-hued atmospheres, leading them into uncharted territory.
'Trouble' is out now.
