Fionn | Modern Medication

Following their release 'Mattress On The Floor' which combined with their lush vocals and euphoric melody, Fionn's latest offering 'Modern Medication' turns up the volume on their pop sensibility.

Bringing together the best of today's contemporary with bohemian pop and adding a dash of 90's flare, Fionn's release is just as irresistible sonically as it is visually.

A light-hearted commentary of the state of the current generation, the duo note:

“'Modern Medication’ is a song about growing up with social media, and how it has affected the mentality of our generation. Being raised in Gen Z, we have never truly experienced life without our senses being overwhelmed by constant entertainment and pictures of what other people are doing. In the video, we wanted to represent the feeling of being on social media with shiny objects, colourful backdrops, fake poses, and fake smiles.”

With their recent releases, they’ve evolved from their stripped-down acoustic stylings to their newfound hybridity. Simply put, the results speak for themselves, combining folk roots and a ‘70s swagger with a boisterous and jubilant indie-pop aesthetic. In an era of instant gratification, of one-dimensional singles and disposable artists, Fionn have put in substantial work and are turning heads the world over.

The pair have accumulated over 700k streams since their 2017 debut 'Skeleton' which peaked in the Top 5 on the CBC Music charts and they have had their music featured amongst some of the most sought after playlists including Indie All Stars and New Music Friday. With their rich harmonies and smart songwriting, the duo have impressed industry and press alike, receiving praises from tastemakers and many influential media channels.

Fionn are young women with old souls. They’re feminine and fashionable but prefer to hang with the boys. Their sound is rooted in classic folk but 'Modern Medication' boasts a modern alt-pop sheen that is uniquely their own.
