Gabe James | Thought of the Feeling

Colorado born and raised artist Gabe James has released his feel-good track 'Thought of the Feeling'.

Acoustic-driven with gentle guitar and stripped back production, 'Thought of the Feeling' is a dreamy and indulgent masterpiece, featuring lush vocals and wholesome lyrics. Taking influence from artists from John Mayer and Ed Sheeran to The 1975 and Fleetwood Mac, Gabe James is inspired by a range of classic rock icons, 90's hip-hop pioneers and pop-rock powerhouses. Experimenting with DIY production techniques, he has managed to create a delicate and compelling, yet indisputably infectious sound that is unique and his own.

“The meaning behind this song tries to articulate that honeymoon phase in your relationship that has a spark where everything is super exciting and new. A fun fact about the song is that we made it on this really shitty pottery barn kids desk that was sawed in half by one of my friends' roommates - the setup was terrible but I guess you can say I owe this song to that desk."

Gabe James knew from the time he was a kid that he wanted to create music, but it wasn’t until his teenage years that this desire became known to everyone else around him. Utilizing his guitar skills to delve into the singer-songwriter world at 16, it was clear Gabe had honed a talent that couldn’t be kept secret anymore. His sonic journey, and literal one from Colorado to L.A. will be showcased in a collection of 3 upcoming EPs, with this release being the first single.

'Thought of the Feeling' is out now.
