17 year old singer / songwriter Amber T continues to build a highly impressive catalogue of songs which belies her young years with new indie pop offering 'Get Me'.

Taking a rockier edge, 'Get Me' was written by Amber and recorded at RYP studios with Producer Michael Smith and mastered by ‘Hippy’ Baldwin at Metropolis Studios. Live drums are courtesy of Joey Walker and guitar/vocals from Amber and Michael who added bass/keys. This year she has released 'SHAKEN', a co-write over zoom with friends Galaxy Thief during lockdown. The song was featured on Record Of The Day and played 6 times across the BBC Introducing Platform and numerous other stations across the UK including College Radio adding up to over 1000 plays.
We had the chance to speak with Amber on the release and more as part of our Get to Know series...
Tell us a little about yourself! "I’m Amber I’m 17 and a self taught musician! I started singing when I was 4 and haven’t stopped since!" Where are you from and what’s your favourite thing about it? "I am from West Sussex. I guess it’s quite nice being from a small area and being able to know lots of people! However the dream is living in a city!" Who or what inspires you to make music? "I’ve always loved music and that began from watching Disney films! I’ve matured (slightly) since then and really appreciate the 1975’s style of music and how they developed from such a young age to where they are now." Who would be your dream artist to collaborate with?
"I would love to collaborate with Sia or Beabadoobee as I love their writing style and lyrics!!" What would be your dream venue to play?
"I am going to reading festival this summer with a few of my friends and it would be amazing to perform at an event like that!!!"
Have you had a particular stand out moment so far?
"I would have to say when Elton John played my track 'No Company' on his Rocket Man radio show and compared me to Fleetwood Mac as well as calling me brilliant it was crazyyyyyy." Most recently, you released your single ‘Get Me’ - how has the reaction been to the track so far?
"It’s a new style of music from before- slightly more rockier and people are loving it. It’s gone down great at gigs!" Tell us a little about what inspired the track and lyrics!
"I really admired beabadoobee style of music and wanted to give it a go myself with my own twist. 'Get Me' takes a lot of inspiration from 90s girl rock (Bjork, The cardigan’s etc.) as well as 00s pop punk such as Paramore while giving it a more modern indie twist!"
What was the inspiration or idea behind the accompanying visuals? "We wanted something simple and classy that still stood out which is why we used a mix of black and red. Since I played guitar on the track we wanted to highlight this feature throughout the video."
Can we expect any live shows coming up for you soon now that restrictions have been lifted?
"Loads coming so best place to check is my website as they are constantly being updated. - ambertmusic.com"

Fri 20th Aug Foodies Festival Syon Park, London
Sat 18th Sep Loddfest, Reading
Sat 25th Sep Foodies Festival, Brighton
Finally, do you have any more big plans for the rest of the year?
"Hopefully! I’m going back in the studio to finish recording a track I’ve already started. I’m then recording a new track that I’m still finishing in demo form. Before that I have two singles recorded and mastered ready for release, which will both be out before the end of the year. It’s one of the biggest frustrations, writing, recording and mastering a track then having to wait for the release but obviously they can’t all come out at the same time! I will be filming a new video for the next single, which is always tiring but also great fun. I will be having a new photo shoot and hopefully will be getting a few more support slots at bigger venues as all the festivals I’ve been performing at have reinvigorated my total love for live performances in front of large audiences, the buzz is amazing."
