New kids on the block, JustSidekicks have released their latest electro gem called ‘Home’ which features the vocal talents of Daphne.
Riding the crest of a wave since the release of their previous track ‘Just Another Memory’, which has reached over 100,000 streams, the duo are definitely ones to watch.
‘Home’ is an atmospheric, vibrant jaunt guided by Daphne’s euphoric vocals.
Speaking about the track, the duo said:
“In a time with so much change, home is the one thing that keeps you grounded. Our goal was to create a song that reminds every one of their home, no matter what or where it is”.
In celebration of their new single, we decided to feature the duo in our ‘Get to Know’ series.
Describe your sound in the form of a hashtag.
"#electropoprocknostalgiahappyupbeat"
What is the silliest thing that you have fallen out over?
"The silliest thing that we have fallen out over is if we should pick up food and bring it home or eat in the restaurant."
To this day, what is one thing that you cannot agree on?
"The Juice WRLD vs. Sting lawsuit."
Describe your emotions when you hit 100,000 streams for Just Another Memory, using just one adjective.
"Surreal."
What was high school like for you guys?
"We went to a very small school and we were friends with a lot of people, but we got friend zoned a lot."
How long after meeting, did you realise that you were destined to write music together?
"We’ve been friends since our freshman year of high school, but it wasn’t until senior year that we realised that we were destined to write music together and in May of 2020, JustSidekicks was born."
You have called your genre ‘Electrorock’. Why?
"We didn’t know if we wanted to go more dance, rock, or pop, so we said, ‘screw it’ and made them all one."
What will your first music video look like?
"We want it to be fun and showcase our personality and give our listeners a chance to see who’s behind the music."
What will your first EP cover look like?
"We want to continue our theme of having Polaroids with vibrant colours- particularly purple and orange seeing as those are “our” colours."
What is your biggest goal as artists?
"We are people who dream very big and to some people, our goals might seem unattainable. Our goal is to have a base of loyal fans that we connect with and have a close relationship with, be DJing live shows at huge venues, playing festivals, be on the Billboard Top 100, work with some of our greatest inspirations such as Benny Blanco and the Chainsmokers, be in the top 100 most listened to artists on Spotify, and most importantly make JustSidekicks a reality. “Making it” in the music industry with your best friend would be nothing short of dream come true."

"Oren would be Donkey from Shrek and Max would be Chewbacca from Star Wars."
