Following on from the release of his EP 'Close To You' at the end of 2020, Indigo Eyes, alias of London based electronic artist Joseph Robson has returned with sweeping single 'Where Were You'.
Much like his most recent EP release, 'Where Were You' sees Indigo Eyes unleash his signature flare for warm electronica. The tantalising track boasts a gorgeous lo-fi house sound which is sure to captivate any listener in an instant. Mesmerising, reverb drenched vocals and lush keys are combined with a forceful bass line groove create an atmospheric soundscape which unfolds effortlessly into the airwaves - another dreamy electronic house cut to add to Indigo Eyes striking collection of tracks as he carves his own unique path into the genre.
Speaking about the single, he said,
"Over the winter period this year I got really into deep house, likely because I was missing clubbing, but also because it weirdly helped me study for my exams, which definitely inspired this track a huge amount. I had it in an almost finished state for months with the feeling it needed just one more thing but I couldn't put my finger on it, then one day I went to my piano and played the melody you hear half way through the track in one take and I knew that's what I was looking for!"
Since the release of his debut EP, Indigo Eyes has been busy on the remix circuit, adding his take to the Kehina cut 'All Over Again', as well as reworking Joe Hertz’s 'Colourblind', which has since racked up more than 145k streams on Spotify alone.
Starting out with childhood lessons in a number of instruments he gradually became a bedroom producer with a deep fascination in dance music and the UK house scene, with influences among the likes of Disclosure, AlunaGeorge, and SG Lewis. After discovering his love for electronic music at the age of 15 when he snuck into a Martin Garrix performance in Ibiza, he is showing a level of diversity and imagination far beyond his years. Coupling smooth and ethereal tones with shuffled beats and seductive grooves has given him an original and driven style that many are quickly beginning to take notice of.
'Where Were You' is out now.
