Jolé | Apline Green

Last year, Jolé made his introduction with a self-titled album, that conveyed the soul-searching pensivity that’s at the heart of this singer-songwriter’s music. Since then, Josh Oliver travelled to Los Angeles to pen the next chapter, and it was that geographical separation from the person that he loves that inspired the new single ‘Alpine Green’.

'Apline Green' is seeped with nostalgia and feelings of times gone by. The acoustic guitar is skilled and melodic throughout and there's a definite folk inspiration and sound. It's both gentle and beautifully evocative.

Jolé says on the track:

"I wrote this song whilst being really home sick. The narrative is about experiencing something beautiful or uplifting that you wish you could share with someone that can’t be there. It’s about feeling grateful in the moment but wanting someone you love to experience it with you also. However, in not being with that person, holding them in your thoughts or in your memory can sometimes be good enough.”

Throughout the pandemic, we’ve all experienced separation from our loved ones to one extent or another, and so Jolé hopes that the listener will find solace, solidarity and hope in the gentle textures of ‘Alpine Green’.

His upcoming EP 'The Silver Lake' will arrive on August 21st.
