Joseph Ray | 300 Below

The EP features pre-released singles '300 Below' and 'Lose My Mind', and is the follow up to his 2019 solo debut and double single 'Room 1.5/Chem-EX', released through the seminal British Trance act Above & Beyond's imprint, Anjunadeep. The new release includes three other haunting minimal techno tracks, including 'Green and Blue', 'Who Are You' and electrifying 6 minute moment 'Guilin', which fuses the sonic elements of each of the tracks into one cohesive sound.

Kicking off as a dynamic deep house cut, the track soon offers a more hypnotic and atmospheric melodic house soundscape, both uplifting and thrilling but somehow peaceful at the same time. A pulsating drum beat runs runs throughout with bright and vibrant synth flourishes, crossing style boundaries and combining years of experimentation and success into an innovative and ambitious sound of his own.

Joseph Ray co-founded Nero as a teenager with a background in classical music. After releasing their debut drum n' bass EP 'Requiem' in 2006, the trio quickly saw their stock rise within the dance music scene. The group went on to release 2 studio albums, 'Welcome Reality' and 'Between II Worlds', as well as countless singles and remixes. They received a GRAMMY Award in 2013 for 'Promises' (Skrillex & Nero Remix) and have been nominated/won awards at numerous other ceremonies. They later produced music for Baz Luhrmamn's 'The Great Gatsby', and with Muse on their '2nd Law' album.

The '300 Below' EP is out now.
