JENS

First up this week is rising superstar, jens who has worked tirelessly to make sure he's the first name in the conversation about the next big thing. His new single 'Noctural' was released last week!

Jens is incredible pop talent coming out of Norway, with over 10 Million streams on Spotify. . Signed to Universal Music and managed by the same team behind Sigrid.

On the recent release he says that:

"Nocturnal is written about an on-and-off relationship I was involved with, the track can definitely be called self-biographical. To me the song is a great soundtrack to a carefree summer fling."

Since launching his project in 2018 with ‘Mixtape’, the talented young Norwegian has seen a meteoric rise off the back off his charismatic, off-kilter pop anthems. After achieving viral success across Scandanavis and later, parts of Europe, he followed the release with a string

of epic pop gems.

Returning in 2020 with a brand new EP due for release in Autumn, the second track from the project is the groove-rich and energetic ‘Nocturnal’. Built on an irresistible funk-style bassline, it’s a captivating piece of pop energy that showcases jens’ undeniable songwriting talent.

LITTLE GRACE

North West England based band Little Grace sit in a landscape where the R&B scene is growing slightly behind the South of the country. They released their first single in almost a year on May 22nd - 'OnUrMind'.

The band are a self acclaimed DIY/Bedroom Pop trio who spent the last six months of 2019 writing and recording. The music centers around short bursts of emotion, culture, and experiments, Little Grace have endeavoured to continue their stories of truths, while delving even further into the world of sounds and effects.

The single is a heartfelt ballad that turns towards contained chaos throughout the chorus, giving an insight to the dramatic twists and turns that can occur throughout the life of a relationship.  In each of their previous singles, Little Grace has presented an original nostalgic sound that takes elements from their influences in Motown, 80’s synth pop and post 2000’s electronic and R&B. Building a catalogue of music that captures everyday life, their lyrics are honest and unfiltered, storytelling through smooth vocals.

EMERGER

Last, but certainly not least this week is duo EMERGER with their late May 2020 release 'Urban Wilderness'.

They said:

"We wrote Urban Wilderness as a homage to Cape Town, our hometown. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the city, with contrasts between nature and urban sprawl. Dancy grooves are drenched in 80’s inspired synths, alluding to both the thrill of traveling the world and a nostalgic longing for home when abroad - a bittersweet love letter".

Dreamy, synth-driven melodies, cinematic progressions, powerful pop vocals, and punchy beats – this is the sonic palate of alt-pop duo, formed by Emma de Goede (lead vocalist / pianist), and Gerry Matthee (producer / multi-instrumentalist), while studying music at the University of Cape Town.

Since the release of their debut mini-album 'Bloom' in 2018, EMERGER has been making waves both nationally and overseas.
