King No One | Obsolete

York's indie icons King No One return with their storming new single 'Obsolete' as well as announcing a UK / European headline tour for Autumn 2021.

Constantly pushing boundaries, 'Obsolete' takes a slight departure from the acoustic driven and catchy indie pop sound of their previous release with a heavier grunge inspired sound. Kicking off with gentle melodic instrumentation which showcases Zach's unique vocal, the big chorus explodes into a rebellious and passionate blend of powerful guitars, indulgent electronics and fist-pumping lyrics. The stadium-sized anthem brims with swagger and a gritty alternative edge with a full throttle guitar solo thrown in for good measure.

Speaking about 'Obsolete', King No One said:

"Fusing 00s R&B and 90s grunge, 'Obsolete' is about the pursuit of hedonism to mask the shame that depression can leave you with. And the first acknowledgment that you kinda suck and don’t want to suck anymore."

'Obselete' is the latest single in a new chapter for the three-piece, who have been making waves over the last few years for their brand of confessional yet catchy alternative indie. With a stunning live show and remarkable songwriting talent, the trio have amassed an army of fans worldwide and become one of the UK's most vital and adored live bands. The single effortlessly showcases this sentiment, and takes everything from the King No One creative pallate to glorious new heights.

The band have announced their UK / European headline tour for Autumn 2021, and will also play a number of UK festivals this summer.

'Obsolete' is out now.
