Up-and-coming pop singer Mimika has released her new single 'Rambling', ahead of her upcoming debut EP, due to be released at the end of this year.
Coming in four chapters, 'Rambling' is the first. Each one illustrates specific moments in Mimika’s life that have gotten her to where she is now. The heartbreak pop single showcases her stunning, soft and pure vocals and impressive talent for songwriting. Acoustic guitar plucks and a dreamy soundscape create the perfect backdrop, building slowly into a dramatic and upbeat chorus. The stunning video is the perfect accompaniment and compliments the track perfectly.
She says,
“I have this tendency to shoot myself in the foot when it comes to relationships and somehow always find a way to end things before they really begin. ‘Rambling’ explores that in a conversational way. I spend a lot of the song beating around the bush regarding what's going on in this relationship until I finally just blurt out the truth which is “maybe I wasn't meant for this, meant for love, I'm scared of 'us’.” The song is meant to make you self-reflect and look inside as to the real motives behind why we do the things we do.”
Influenced by the songwriting of artists such as Julia Michaels, Sasha Sloan and Taylor Swift, Mimika will showcases this throughout her upcoming releases. Alongside herself, Matt Kahane, Quin Sung and Zeph Park all had part in the writing and production. In addition, Ben Cohen led the vocal production, and Noah Taylor of ‘19&YOU’ mixed the project. Mimika hopes to bond with her listeners over their shared experiences with self-sabotage when it comes to new love and experiences.
