Natalie McCool has returned with her second single of 2020 'Devils' released via AWAL.
With 80's tinged, electro-pop vibes, 'Devils' gives us a mellow sound - yet with a groovy danceability. The track is catchy, melodic and oozes cool, flavoured with delightfully feel-good vocals and equally good lyrics. With a touch of indie, shimmering synths and an energetic chorus, it's a thoroughly enjoyable and a highly satisfying listen.
“Devils is essentially about allowing yourself every once in a while to give into emotions that are traditionally seen as negative, and that’s okay, because we are only human and need to experience and accept these feelings to be whole. I think giving someone the space and support to say anything and everything they are experiencing or thinking, and for that also to be ok, is an amazing way to accept and move on. In a way it’s taking away the stigma and shame of these feelings and turning the experience into something positive that will make you stronger.”
Natalie is keeping herself busy whilst unable to play live shows - entertaining fans with a series of online performances as well as regular editions of her postcast McCool & The Gang. Filling her time with writing sessions, collaborations and essential preparations ahead of her new album in 2021, 'Devils' gives us a hint of what is to come.
