Kristian Grostad | Feels Lighter

Norwegian singer / songwriter Kristian Grostad has just released the first single 'Feels Lighter' from his upcoming debut album.

The track is a driven indie-pop banger about confronting yourself and opening up in a close relationship to talk about your feelings.

"Despite making things seem harder, clearing your mind will eventually feel lighter. Though it won’t necessarily make things easier, in the end things will be better".

'Feels Lighter' is produced by Tobias Flottorp Heltzer, mixed by Bjarne Stensli, and mastered by George Tanderø.

Kristian Grostad is a Norwegian singer-songwriter combining acoustic tradition with strong indie pop-rock influences such as The National, Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, and The Shins. After releasing his debut EP and touring festivals and clubs around Norway, he has been building a debut album that relates these experiences with the realities of small town life nestled by the fjords back home.

Hailing from a small town in Norway and born into a musical home, his early years were filled with a wide variety of genres and instruments but he didn’t find his own path until later as a teenager when he received his own guitar as a gift and began writing his own music. His move to Oslo not long after inspired a new wave of creativity by meeting a new city, new relations, and a new chapter of his life.

Kristian's debut single 'Apple Trees and the Sound of Bees' made waves regionally and was featured by local press and radio as "one of the best debut singles" and this caught the attention of national radio too. The steam continued to build following the next release, leading to more national press and even some international acclaim.

Riding the positive buzz around the EP release, Kristian spent 2018 touring Norway, at stops such as Trondheim Calling, Steinkjerfestivalen, Parkteatret (Oslo), and John Dee (Oslo).

Like every true artist, the culmination of one's experiences drives the future art, so Kristian has taken this fertile ground and is sowing the seeds for his debut album, set to release later this year or early 2021. Make sure to keep an eye out!
