Reece has released his latest single 'BOY, DON'T CRY', playing on the phrase 'boys don't cry', he cleverly tailors it to his own experience.
'BOY, DON'T CRY;' is a deeply personal and emotional track hidden behind an infectious and catchy commercial song and Reece's unique vocal shines right through. Written in his bedroom and produced by Trackside, the track weaves dynamic vocal and sonic as libbing around a message which takes turns shooting fire at his ex and consoling himself.
“This is my first song explicitly discussing my sexuality, and while terrifying, it's something I felt I had to do. “BOY, DON'T CRY” is about moving on from an ex who made you feel small, which transcends orientation. I tried to make a song I wish I'd heard growing up. With so many Black lives still being taken in this country, I wanted to honor our moral obligation of support with actions in my life, and my music. ALL Black lives matter - including LGBTQ+ Black lives. Since June is Pride month, I wanted to support a charity benefiting both groups at once. I will donate my earnings on this song to The Center Of Black Equity - a charity founded in D.C. to help Black members of the LGBTQ+ community thrive in this world."
Since Reece debuted his first single 'Ghost', he signed a publishing deal and moved to LA and briefly to NYC, and even met with super producer Benny Blanco - only to find himself more lost than ever and made his way home to Virginina. Pouring his heart out musically, mentally and physically led to musical breakthroughs, an amazing weight loss of over 100lbs and Reece showing who he truly is as both a young man and artist.
Single 'Don't Go' has now amassed over 2 million streams as well as gaining support from many influential media channels including Billboard. Reece is a must for your musical radar.
