Another set of fabulous releases this week, here's what we've found...
Glooms released his new single 'Holding Up' this week.
"I wrote this song about watching someone who you love start to fall out of love with you. The process of beginning to feel isolated and ignored and the emotions that one feels watching a relationship fade out."
After releasing a plethora of music last year, Glooms took some time to redefine who he is as an artist. After a quiet but intense start to the year, polishing his craft and creating a sound for the artist he truly wanted to be, he has made his return.
Pop sensation PRINS released her debut EP, 'Magnetic' this week, which features the new single ‘I Tried’.
‘I Tried’ is another big-sounding dance-pop track, which is in keeping with the EP’s previously released singles, the title track ‘Magnetic’ and ’Stay Away’.
The release of the EP, which lyrically explores heartache and complication against a soundscape of upbeat pop, this is a significant milestone for PRINS.
“It feels like a huge achievement to be putting this out, after a year of hard work, tears and many emotions”
Born in Auckland and now based in Christchurch, PRINS - who is a dancer, actor and model - has spent the last few years establishing herself as a well respected performer and is heading out on a 5 date tour of New Zealand in September.
'Circles' is the debut release by Amour, released on Soul Kitchen Recordings (an Independent Label from Newcastle upon Tyne, UK). The track was written by Lauren Amour and Oscar Bell, with lead vocals by Lauren and featured vocal by Oscar, who also produced the track.
The video for Circles was filmed in Japan during Lockdown by Jack Atherton.
The single follows 22 year old Lauren Amour’s feature vocal on Brazilian Dance Music star, Mojjo’s current hit 'It’s True' which was released July 24.

Nashville-based pop artist Becoming Young, aka Brandon Calano, has just released new single 'Reckless' - the fifth single off his latest album, 'Feeling Single'. The song’s dreamy atmosphere and upbeat, summer vibe evoke a supernova of summer bliss.
“From the moment I wrote the drop, it just hit different. This song came from something real- ‘Reckless’ is about falling for someone, despite hesitation. It’s about feeling vulnerable and taking a chance.”
For those not familiar with Brandon Calano, he writes and records under the pseudonym, Becoming Young. It’s a name he says embodies his journey to let go of everything he is not—and become who he was meant to be all along.
Becoming Young’s forthcoming album, 'Feeling Single', explores the modern dating landscape as told by an emotionally-reckless millennial. 'Reckless' will be Becoming Young’s fourth release of 2020, following trap-pop banger, 'High', bouncy summer bop, 'The Night I Met You', and the sultry, 'Cherry Twist'.
Canadian artist Matt McWaters shares the first of a string of singles to be released this year with 'Bad Habits'. This is his first release since working with Ta-ku on their collaborative 'Please Wait' EP.
“It's about learning to deal with my own anxieties and not letting them dictate the way I behave in my personal life and relationships.”
Having picked up music at a young age, McWaters has spent years cultivating his production knowledge and music theory to create music inspired by his eclectic taste. This led to traveling around Canada to create music and brought him the opportunity to write with Australian producer Ta-ku.
The collaboration culminated in producing tracks for Masego, Alayna and his long-time friend kerri for their EP and over 5 million streams for their debut.
After the success of their breakthrough debut EP ‘Into Happiness’ last year, Swedish alt-pop outfit Slide now return with their highly anticipated follow-up 'Things I Tell Myself’ through If Music Could Talk.
Featuring the previously unveiled offerings ‘Keep Shining’,‘Waiting’ and ‘Hello Spirit’, alongside the newly unveiled lead single ‘Maybe I Just Hate You’ and unheard cut ‘Pool Water’, the pair look to take their bold and dynamic sound, which many have compared to the likes of BROCKHAMPTON, Dominic Fike and Post Malone, to the next level with this diverse and adventurous collection.
Accompanied by a set of videos shot in Los Angeles, the band’s latest EP is just the start of a bold new era. With fans already clamouring for new music on their social media channels, the duo trust that they recognise the band not just for their rock songs, but for harbouring the outspoken attitude too. Work on the next EP is well underway, and they’re keen to keep honing their craft.
SAM THE ASTRONAUT
Duo, Sam the Astronaut have released their new single, 'Monster Squad' -a pop anthem about the confidence of being a part of something, like the Monster Squad from Fred Dekker’s 1987 movie The Monster Squad.
Sam the Astronaut, comprised of Garrison Johnson and TJ Gibson, pursued their musical ambitions independently while discovering a mutual admiration for each other from afar. Their creative paths finally aligned when they simultaneously found themselves between projects looking for a fresh musical perspective and finding that in one another.
With that, Sam the Astronaut, a mix of snappy pop, new-wave electronic, hip-hop grit, funky disco was born.
Wesley Saylor has come back to release 'Even Now' after receiving almost 1 million plays on his last singles music video 'Back In September' across Youtube, Facebook and Twitter.

KEY OF EVERGREEN
Last but not least is LA based indie rock band Key of Evergreen, who have released their new and refreshing single 'Unwanted'.
'Unwanted' is a song that brings a feeling of late 90's/early 00's nostalgia, all while sounding modern and new. It is a dynamic song that has soft and chill verses with a catchy and big sounding chorus. The lo-fi bridge will catch people off guard but pull together the song to bring something new to the table. The ending chorus will bring people to wanting more and hitting that replay button.
