Another set of fabulous releases this week, here's what we've found...
Introducing KIDSNOT$AINTS. - a New Jersey based creative collective, who unveils their
debut single, 'Daydreamer'.
Featuring both Josh Mathew and Raphael George the two take you on a reminisce journey back to a childhood relationship. Daydreamer is a story of a relationship running through the course of time. All we have is time and in that time we spend it with ones we love. This is to the people searching for love in their dreams but find it in reality.
The official music video for Ruston Kelly’s new song, 'Pressure' was debuted this week. Directed by Stephen Kinigopoulos and Alexa King, the video is the latest unveiled from Kelly’s anticipated new album, 'Shape & Destroy', which will be released August 28 on Rounder Records.
Co-produced by Kelly and longtime collaborator Jarrad K (Kate Nash, Weezer) and recorded at Dreamland Recording Studios in upstate New York, 'Shape & Destroy' documents Kelly’s journey through maintaining his sobriety and facing his past.
Reflecting on the album, Kelly comments,
“Making this record definitely taught me that I don’t want to be selfish: I want to channel something larger than myself and give myself to the process as fully as possible, because these songs also become the story of whoever hears them. Whatever someone might get out of listening to this record and hearing me express myself in this way, it’s completely theirs.”
Russian born, NYC based artist The Surrge released his new track 'No Cure' this week.
Hotly-tipped Scottish singer-songwriter Aaron Smith has released his new EP ‘For My Father’ through Platoon, which includes lead single 'Unconditional'.
Much like the offerings unveiled so far, ‘Unconditional’ aims to confront the demons that haunted his adolescence and how, as an adult, he can reflect on those experiences and use his songwriting to truly express the impact that those times have had on him. This new release is more of a love letter to those that he cares about most in his life. Written during an isolated period in his life, he looks to show just how much he cares about those around him and how he has grown to appreciate human connections in his life.
Speaking about the track, Aaron said,
"When I wrote Unconditional it was a time where I was away from my loved ones constantly and it was quite hard. It was kind of my letter to them saying that I’m okay and that we are still close. I’ve always been very close with family so not seeing them was quite tough."
thisisNAMASTE has released her brand new track 'Something' via Humble Angel Records. Known for her catchy melodies and sassy lyrics- this time, she turns her hand to euphoric electro pop to gratifying results. Over a pulsating heartbeat of electro bass, Natasha shows off her sonic ability for catchy disco pop vocals. With five pop bangers under her belt to date, thisisNAMASTE’s career is already shaping up to join the ranks of pop stardom.
“This song is about those relationships where someone has come into our life as the perfect distraction from our other problems, however deep down we knew they weren't right for us. I like to think that every relationship we have- romantic or otherwise- serves a purpose and lesson in our life, even the ones that don’t work out or end the way we wanted them to.”
There's a new 80s electro pop sensation on the block; her name? Sophie Blair. Her second release of the year 'AIR I BREATHE' hones in on her raw, honest vocals and a drivingproduction.
At 22 years old, Sophie has managed to live a rather experienced life; a creative, young multi-talented songwriter and performer from Provo, Utah. Provo is a small town with an unusually vibrant music scene, such as Velour that’s always packed with energetic pop kids just like Sophie.
Last but not least this week is Dave Koda who has just released his new single 'Let Go'.
'Let Go' was written to talk about the struggle of doing the things that are right for you. As human beings, we have a natural ability to create a barrier between ourselves and what is beneficial for our growth.
