Alt-pop princess Royal & the Serpent has released her introspective EP, 'searching for nirvana' via Atlantic Records, launching alongside a lyric video for 'girls' feat. Phem.
'girls' is a totally refreshing electro-pop gem which fuses elements from alt-rock and indie pop to create a track which brims with swagger, a banging bassline and a full-throttle guitar solo thrown in for good measure. Delivered with upmost confidence and flair, Royal is sassy, oozes cool and has an effortlessly good style which she proves in the new release - both fresh and focused with a stand out, spellbinding vocal performance from both of the artists.
The attention-grabbing artist sings through toxic relationships, self- hate/love, questioning sexuality and acceptance of who you are in the self-reflective release. It follows her latest single 'phuck u', which received a glamorously grungy music video, directed by Kyle Cogan.
In each piece of music she shares with the world, Royal reveals the wild duality at the heart of her artistry and speaks to the incredible power of embracing your true nature, in all its outrageous complexity. A Gemini to the core, she’s passionate but pensive, sensitive but self-possessed, enigmatic but an open book when it comes to exposing what’s inside her mind.
