New York’s Ryan Rickenbach has shared his new single ‘Emily’ which is the third track to be released from his upcoming debut album.
The self-professed ‘little king of cosmic folk’ delivers a track which is bursting with slick guitar hooks and high-spirited drum patterns and is accompanied by a theatrical visual directed by Amanda Rizzuto.
Speaking about the inspiration behind the songs title, Rickenbach said:
“A lot of people have asked who Emily is. She’s a real person, but I don’t think that reveals much. A real person can be the inspirational spark, but as you write you begin projecting a composite of imagined characteristics. Emily is perhaps a common fantasy of the anima – something to be seduced and sent on its way. That’s clearly an absurd fantasy, but that’s not to say it isn’t alluring.”
Be sure to keep an eye out for information on the album release!
