Sarpa Salpa have returned with brand new single 'Your House'.
The synth-heavy and sing along banger is quite a contradiction, the upbeat nature of the track with its effortlessly good melody and creative production juxtaposing the heavier lyrical content which is rooted in a very sad situation. The track speaks on the feeling of separation from the person you love when a romantic relationship is coming to its end, and how the places and shared experiences that once felt so normal and natural can suddenly feel completely alien.
This can be best summed up by the line “I’ve lost all sense of home in your house”, which describes losing a sense of familiarity in your partner’s space, where you previously felt completely welcome and content.
The Northampton quartet are perfectly crafting feel good alt-pop tracks designed with the indie dance floor in mind. Formed by Marcus Marooth, George Neath & Charlie Doe with Meg Amirghiasvand joining in 2019, Sarpa Salpa began playing regularly in their local venues before heading to almost every corner of the UK, amassing a loyal following of fans.
The band's release of 'Another Life' garnered support from Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1 as well as BBC 6, BBC Introducing, Radio X, Amazing Radio and across the Student Radio Network through lockdown. The band were finally able to take their success out on the road in late summer of this year with an impressive 15 date headline tour across the UK with multiple sold out shows as well as a handful of summer festivals. The tour was funded & supported by the PPL Momentum Fund as part of the release of previous EP ‘A Feeling You Can’t Replace’. With a further run of dates to come in February and a new EP in the Spring and have just confirmed a slot at the SXSW Festival in Austin Texas in March..now things are moving again Sarpa Salpa show no signs of slowing down...
