Slum Sociable ft. KYE | You're In My Head

Much-loved Melbourne duo Slum Sociable have released their single 'You're In My Head', featuring Melbourne-based, Zimbabwe-born and London-raised artist, KYE.

Having had their first release in 2015, 'You're In My Head' marks the duo's first ever collaboration on a track. The vibrant summer groove features soaring vocals from KYE taking a firm hold of the song's propulsive rhythms. With an earworm bass-line, matched by Miller and KYE's harmonious energy, thegrandiose, festival-ready production comes courtesy of Ed Quinn and Xavier Dunn.

With their notable catalogue of Ed Quinn's smooth, trip-hop influenced production existing in perfect synchronisation with Miller Upchurch’s enchanting vocals, it’s no question why Slum Sociable’s work firmly stands on its own feet. The duo have effortlessly forged their own creative identity with no remixes and collaborations - until this release.

Ed says,

“Working alongside KYE was a dream come true, and she took this track to another level. We’ve always wanted to make a stomper like this, so it feels good to finally release it.”

KYE takes his musical influence from the likes of Kehlani, Solange and NAO, with a modern take on neo-soul, fuelled by her formidable songwriting, effortless vocal and vast network of collaborators in Melbourne’s increasingly renowned community of creatives in R&B, hip-hop and future soul. She brings her unique energy to the track, which she also shows in her live performances, having shared the stage with the likes of Sampa The Great, Rule and Meg Mac.

“This is my favourite collaboration to date! It’s an honour to be Slum’s first feature, especially on such an infectious and energetic track.”

‘You’re In My Head' comes in pursuit of their previous single 'Explain Myself', which caught attention from Jack Saunders with play on BBC Radio 1, as well as gaining support from Apple Music and Spotify. Slum Sociable continue their upward trajectory, with an accumulative 25 million streams and are working on their EP release.

'You're In My Head' is out now.
