'Happy' is the 3rd and final single from duo Son of Cabe upcoming debut EP, due for release in September.
Ironically named 'Happy', it's a song about self-sabotage and how sometimes it can feel like your mind is against you; whether that's making you feel sad, angry, stressed or anxious. Like previous single ‘Numb’ it’s written from a character called Alchemist’s perspective (who the whole EP is themed around).
Guildford born indie pop duo Son of Cabe take influence from 80s pop, electronic and indie music to fuse their own unique sonic blend. Originating as a solo project by songwriter and producer Conor McCabe, the duo was completed when he met drummer and co-producer Jack Holland at university.
They cut their teeth performing at pubs and clubs in and around London and have since found themselves as frequent features on BBC Introducing the South and performed at The Great Escape Festival in Brighton. Their most popular single ‘Let Go’ has accumulated over 230,000 streams to date and received reviews from influential tastemakers along with BBC radio airplay.
