Introducing | Tadhg Daly

Here at The Lowdown, we love introducing our readers to new, up and coming talent that we highly recommend checking out. In this article, we introduce you to Jersey-born Irish singer and song-writer Tadhg Daly, who has recently released his new single 'Your Heart's Not In It,' which follows on from a host of fresh pop offerings over the past year, including 'Figure It Out' and 'Come Alive.'

One of his most explosive releases to date, 'Your Heart's Not In It' is heartbreakingly beautiful in its upbeat nature. While the lyrics are unbelievably heart-wrenching and immensely emotional in their nature, with the track representing an honest reflection on a relationship coming to an end, his vocals are equally on par with the captivating lyrics, along with the phenomenal production throughout the track.

We had the opportunity to speak with Tadhg Daly about his brand new single, who he derives musical inspiration from and much more. Keep reading to check out what he had to say!

You have recently released your brand new single, titled 'Your Heart's Not In It.' How does it feel to have new music released?

"It feels quite surreal to be honest! It's been nearly a year since I've released music. I'm so excited to be back at it!"

For anyone who hasn't heard the single yet, can you sum it up in a couple of words?

"I think of it as a guitar driven anti-love song for anyone that's ever watched their relationship die and felt helpless to it."

Do you have a favourite lyric from the new single?

"I think it would be: 'So tear me apart again, but make sure we're at the end.' It's the typical scenario of someone ready to accept that it's over, but warning the other person that there's no going back if they do walk away."

Who would you say you derive musical inspiration from?

"That's always such a hard question for me, but it all stems from my love of rock, pop and hip-hop music. To name a few artists: Nirvana, The Used, Paul Simon, Jeff Buckley, Abba, James Bay and Ben Howard."

Do you have any plans for the remainder of the year that you can tell us about?

"I mean, like for us, it's almost impossible to plan too much live stuff right now, but I'll be consistently releasing music for the rest of the year. I'm buzzed to show everyone what I've spent the last year working on."

Finally, do you have a message for all of your supporters?

"Just massive love as always for the support. I get imposter syndrome pretty hard whenever I release a song and how supportive and vocal everyone is around me helps me to negate that a little...I hope you like the new song!"

'Your Heart's Not In It' is out now.
