Belfast / Liverpool based singer, songwriter and producer Thom Southern has released his debut single 'Shivers'.
'Shivers' is a confident and compelling debut. An indie rock anthem that takes us straight back to the early 90's classics with an epic genre fusion twist using elements of folk, shoegaze and fuzzy alt-rock with skilful guitars and rhythmic drum beats. It's a bold move for any artist, but it's certainly paid off this time.
The track was recorded in Belfast in Thom's home studio and co-produced with 2x Grammy Award winner Adrian Bushby.
"Shivers is the concept of love being like a drug, a sensation of being outside one’s own body, floating and being able to observe oneself from a different perspective. I wanted to embody this meaning within a dense sounding track, to mainly focus on one swollen guitar sound which never stops throughout and accompany that with repetitive beatnotic drums"
Thom is making an unforgettable first impression with 'Shivers', immediately establishing a strong identity and solid sound through perfectly formed guitar pop, taking influence from the likes of Beck, My Bloody Valentine and The Smashing Pumpkins.
