After much teasing across his social media channels in the past few weeks, Essex alternative artist tmdistant has unveiled his new single, 'need to get out of here'. Produced by Song Higginson, the track serves as the beginning of a new chapter for the artist.
'need to get out of here' is a considerable departure from his previous releases, which were more inclined towards hyperpop and glitch pop. The song’s energetic indie-pop production contrasts with its powerful lyrics, which explores the rough journey of leaving a toxic relationship.
He says,
"'need to get out of here’ embodies being stuck in a toxic relationship or anything you don’t want to be in but can’t seem to find your way out. I wrote this in a time of need but not knowing what I needed. I got inspiration from seeing my friends being sucked in and out of situationships and struggles with the same people, and the same problems. Sometimes all you need is an escape…”
