Brooklyn-based duo Tropic have made their impressive return with single 'Down'. Comprised of electronic producer & DJ Phuse and R&B singer / songwriter Jo-B Sebastian, the duo have garnered support from influential tastemakers and amassed millions of streams across platforms since debuting in 2018.
Following on from previous 2020 releases, 'Lights Out (Redux)', 'Always Be My Baby', 'Secret' and 'Paradise', 'Down' is another electro-pop hit to add to the duo's smooth and striking collection. A luscious fusion of dreamy production, slick hooks, funky rhythms and a stellar vocal performance, the track is ladened with irresistible, quirky melodies and poetic lyrics, captivating listeners from the first note.
Speaking on the track, Tropic explained,
"‘Down’ is a coming of age story, written from the perspective of someone forced to grow up too soon. The transition of summer to fall always leaves us with a lingering melancholy, and with ‘Down’ we mirror the changing of seasons with a song that laments the memories and people we try so hard to leave behind but can’t seem to let go of."
