Rising singer / songwriter vaultboy has released his viral debut single, entitied 'everything sucks', after teasing a 30 second clip on TikTok back in January which has since been used in over 50k user generated videos.
After thousands of fan requests for the official single release, the track is finally here. Written and produced with the help of fellow writer gnash, the track is a guaranteed pick-me-up ear worm to all who listen. With tongue in cheek lyricism, playful beats and an infectiously catchy and captivating bedroom-pop inspired chorus, 'everything sucks' takes you on a wholesomely nostalgic journey which is universally relatable sure to resonate with listeners.
“It’s crazy to me how a song I wrote in my bedroom about looking on the bright side has connected to so many people all over the world. We’re all so similar in that way; we’re just looking for a reason to smile and be okay.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Rozu Creative, and shows vaultboy at home by himself enjoying some curry and then smoothly transitions to him at a dream-like arcade.
vaultboy hails from Jacksonville, Florida and began experimenting with music during high school, perfecting and growing his craft ever since. In 2018, vaultboy started livestreaming himself singing, performing and also gaming full-time. In late 2020, he officially debuted on TikTok as vaultboy, a name that pays homage to his love of video games, specifically the Fallout series. He began sharing his original music and found, with his fun and relatable lyrics, he was able to deeply connect with the audience that has grown around him.
Now in 2021, vaultboy has accumulated over 680k followers on TikTok and has had numerous viral videos. Looking forward to the future and due to popular demand from fans and listeners, vaultboy is working on transforming his viral TikTok and YouTube demos into full length singles to be released throughout this year, as well as continue to write and record more music for his rapidly growing fanbase.
